Unless the item states that it is new, NOS condition in packaging items in non or un-issued condition can be 50 years old or more. They will not show wear or signs of use but they have been stored for years and shipped around the world so they will show signs of storage and may have that military surplus smell. No wear, damage or stains but may have minor long term storage marks and a few long threads that need snipped off. Pants feature two front slash pockets, two hip hidden button flap close cargo pockets, t wo rear hidden button flap close pockets, leg strap tighteners, reinforced seat and knees (where noted) These are the top quality U.S.A. Military Contractor made in the U.S.A. versions not the cheaper and flimsy import versions. The Extra Small/Regular pants are marked for a waist size of up to 27". Inseam from 29 1/2" to 32 1/2". NATO Size 7583/5869. The actual natural waist is app. 27" and can be tightened down to app. 24" with the side adjustment straps. Actual inseam is app. 31 1/2" as measured from the crotch seam to the bottom of the pant leg. Manufactured by Winfield Mfg. Co., Inc for the U.S. Military Forces in 1981. Inseam from 29 1/2" to 32 1/2". NATO Size 7583/9909. The actual natural waist is app. 40" and can be tightened down to app. 37" with the side adjustment straps. Actual inseam is app. 33" as measured from the crotch seam to the bottom of the pant leg. Manufactured by Quality Apparel in 1986 for the U.S. Military Forces. These have the reinforced seat and knees. The S.W.I. XL/L pants are marked for a waist size of over 39". Inseam over 32 1/2". NATO Size 8390/9909. The actual natural waist is app. 41" and can be tightened down to app. 38" with the side adjustment straps. Actual inseam is app. 34" as measured from the crotch seam to the bottom of the pant leg. Manufactured by S.W.I. in 1983 for the U.S. Military Forces. These have the reinforced seat and knees. The S.W.I. XL/L pants with the small tears on the leg cuffs have the same measurements as the XL/L above. The small tears only go through one layer of the material on the bottom cuffs (see last photo). They must have gotten pinched somehow in storage. They are otherwise like new and they also have the reinforced seat and knees.
